"The Ship of Sulaiman" is a record by Muhammad Rabi' ibn Muhammad Ibrahim, a scribe and secretary of the Persian embassy from Shah Sulaiman's court in 1686. It narrates the Iranian embassy's journey to and from Ayutthaya, drawing from the author's own experiences and stories heard or inquired about from his contemporaries. This account is structured as travel literature, influenced by Indo-Persian culture, intertwining poetry, literature, anecdotes, and folklore with real historical events. It offers insights through the interpretations and worldview of a 17th-century Iranian intellectual.
