The paper considers love themes in modem Thai Nirat to demonstrate how they have changed and developed from the old conventions, focussing on the works of three contemporary Thai poets: Lam Nam Phu Kradung (Melody of Phu Kradung) by Angkhan Kalayanapong, Khian Phandin (To Write Homeland) by Naowarat Pongpaiboon, and Ma Kan Kluai (Banana Tree Horse) by Paiwarin Khaongam.
