The Lahu text given here is just one short example of a vast body of Lahu ritual poetry, some of which I was able to record during my anthropological investigations of Lahu Nyi (Red Lahu) in the northern Thai uplands.  This contribution is best viewed not in isolation but as part of a series of papers on Lahu ritual and religious poetry which have appeared in this and other jouroals.
