The excavation of 13th–16th century kilns along the Yom River in the area around the old city of Sisatchanalai stimulated interest and prompted the redevelopment of pottery production in the village of Ko Noi. The current pottery production in the area drastically affected the economic fabric of the village. This paper deals with the various types of kilns excavated, the construction of similar modern-day kilns, the process of kiln modernization and some economic effects.
