Social Network Cooperation in World Cultural Heritage Conservation: A Case Study of the Historical City in Central Region

This research purposes (1) to study a context of network on the world cultural heritage site of Historic City of Ayutthaya. (2) to study a social participatory process on preserving the world cultural heritage of Historic City of Ayutthaya (3) to study a model and proceeding of social network on preserving the world cultural heritage of Historic City of Ayutthaya and (4) to study a guidance to increase a potential cooperation in order to establish networking on preserving the world cultural heritage of Historic City of Ayutthaya with a qualitative research.

The results revealed that: 1) Historic City of Ayutthaya was the special area due to human activities conducted on this archaeological site, therefore it should be preserved and developed by the central and local agencies concerned, each of agency have specific laws, rules and regulations to follow their duties. Such actions should be depend on the master plan of preserving and developing the Historic City of Ayutthaya. 2) The government sector has insufficiently facilitated private sector and civil society to participate in preservation whereas only a few parts have been done. 3) Model of social networking was completely controlled by the government sector in terms of preservation and social network in preserving the world cultural heritage of historic city of Ayutthaya was incompetent. 4) Guidance to increase a potential cooperation in order to establish social network encompassing 4 solutions as follow : (1) legal issue, the redundant law and the outdated law should be improve and special organization should be set up for governance the Historic City of Ayutthaya (2) conservation issue, the number of volunteer to help preservation should be increase (3) promote learning for sustainable conservation issue, the concerned government sector should give conservation knowledge to public sector and (4) empowering the participation of conservation issue, the government sector should provide opportunity to public sector for participate every operation procedure of conservation.
