This academic article aims to present the concepts, theories, basic principles in criminology and describe the characteristics of environmental crime in the world heritage area: the historical city of Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya. By analyzing the crimes caused of human activities that affect the management of the world heritage area to people, communities and the nation. Environmental crime is a form of crime which is different from general crime. Furthermore, there is no clear guilty person, the damage did not occur immediately and most importantly, do not know who is the real victim. In addition, the daily living habits of people in their daily activities may be considered as a destruction of the environment to explain criminology. Moreover, aside from being describe the characteristics of environmental crime in the world heritage area: the historical city of Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya. This article can also apply suggestions to prevent environmental crime problems occurring in the cultural heritage area: the historical city of Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya and other areas.
