Loincloth: Values and Meanings from Cultural Capital to Creative Economy

This article focuses on the values and meanings of loincloth, a legacy of intangible cultural heritage and cultural capital that brings added value. Significant of values and meanings of cultural heritage is a process that is crucial to the management of cultural resources. The data were analyzed based on the concept of William D. Lipe. The result of study reveals that the values and meanings of the loincloth is a dynamic that is changing all the time, except to show that loincloth has values and meanings in various areas, including the value of symbolic/associative value, academic value, aesthetic value and economic value.
