Trio<\/strong><\/p>\n Three talented ladies from three distinctive backgrounds living in the same neighborhood in Bangkok have forged a friendship through their mutual passion for music: meet N.A.O. Trio. The name N.A.O. comes from the initials of each member\u2019s first name: Noa Chorin (\u201cN\u201d), Anna Takeda (\u201cA\u201d) and Omporn Kowintha (\u201cO\u201d). The members of this trio have a collective experience that spans the globe from Bangkok to Berlin and beyond through performances with various chamber music groups. \u201cNao\u201d also happens to be a popular female name in Japanese meaning \u201charmony\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n About Hayne Kim \u2013 Violin<\/strong><\/p>\n Korean-American violinist Hayne Kim made her solo Carnegie Hall debut at the age of 16 and has since performed internationally as a soloist and chamber musician. As an ensemble player, she has performed in some of New York City\u2019s most beloved halls, such as Merkin Hall and Stern Auditorium, with groups such as the Shattered Glass Ensemble and the International Chamber Soloists. An ardent supporter of contemporary music, she is the violinist and co-founder of C\u00edrculo Trio, an ensemble dedicated to exploring and presenting new and\/or underperformed works alongside standard repertoire.<\/p>\n About the pieces<\/strong><\/p>\n Schubert – String Quartet No.13, D. 804 “Rosamunde”<\/em><\/p>\n Schubert wrote his String quartet no. 13 in A minor, catalogued as D. 804 or Op. 29 and often nicknamed \u201cRosamunde\u201d, in 1824. This work appeared roughly around the same time as his \u201cDeath and the Maiden\u201d quartet, after a period of some years during which he had not approached the genre. From 1824 onwards, Schubert largely turned away from writing songs in order to concentrate on chamber music. His works from this period, including the A minor quartet, rely on the cyclical use of elements. Consisting of four movements, it takes around 30 minutes to be performed.<\/p>\n Borodin –\u00a0 String Quartet No. 2 in D major<\/em><\/p>\n Alexander Borodin\u2019s String Quartet No. 2 in D major was written in 1881 and dedicated to the composer\u2019s wife, Ekaterina Protopova. Some scholars, including Borodin’s biographer Serge Dianin, suggest that the quartet was a 20th anniversary gift, evoking the couple’s first meeting in Heidelberg.
