Kiarti Srifuengfung was surpassed by no other entrepreneur in the new modern Thailand of the 1950s to 1990s. He was certainly a unique man. His life and career were undeniably one of the most interesting biographies worth studying. Many have tried to summarize the climax of this businessman\u2019s life, but no one, not even those in the inner circles, has ever succeeded. Kiarti simply never stopped moving ahead.<\/p>\n

Arunee Srifuengfung, the author of Kiarti Srifuengfung, The Boy from Suphanburi<\/em>, was inspired to write this book after her visit to Greece in April 1991. She wanted to capture in words and pictures the fascinating story of his life. A book that his grandchildren\u2019s children will want to read and re-read. His descendants deserve to know what he has done and why he has done it. Ms Arunee will talk about the inspiration for writing the book. She will also talk about his childhood and manhood, his career and empire building, as well as his family.<\/p>\n

Arunee Srifuengfung<\/strong> was an officer in three of Kiarti\u2019s companies, namely, Thai Asahi Glass, Thai Metropole Insurance and Cathay Trust and Securities. She has taught at Chulalongkorn University, Thammasat University, and the International School, Bangkok. She has been very active in community service organizations and the National Museum Volunteers. She has also long supported the efforts of The Siam Society\u2019s Siamese Heritage Trust in advocating for greater recognition of cultural heritage management.<\/p>\n
