Sacred Mountain: Faith, Nature and Architecture<\/em> is Dr Rasita\u2019s first book, written with the intention of presenting academic architectural research in a form accessible to general readers. Developed from her doctoral dissertation, the book presents its subject in a clear and approachable manner, inviting readers to engage with the concept of the sacred mountain as it relates to nature, architecture, and humanity.<\/p>\n This talk presents a design paradigm of sacred mountains within Southeast Asian cultures, aiming to introduce new historical and architectural perspectives through the interconnected themes of faith, nature, and architecture. The speaker brings together the concept of ecological spirituality, rooted in the geographical and ecological contexts of mountains, with architectural design, viewing architecture as a sacred, symbolic mountain shaped by human faith. This approach is explored through Southeast Asian worldviews, belief systems, and cultural interpretations of mountains, as well as architectural forms that embody their sacredness.<\/p>\n The book is currently available in Thai, and an English-language edition is in production and scheduled for release in 2026.<\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][et_pb_blurb title=”About the speaker” icon_placement=”left” _builder_version=”4.27.4″ header_level=”h3″ header_font=”||||||||” custom_padding=”||10px||false|false” global_colors_info=”{}”]<\/p>\n Dr Rasita Sin-ek-iem<\/strong> holds a master\u2019s degree in the History of Architecture and a doctoral degree in Architectural Heritage Management and Tourism from Silpakorn University. She is an independent scholar specialising in art history, architectural history, cultural heritage management, and tourism.
