“Buddhism and Architectural Heritage of Wat Phra Borom That Nakhon Si Thammaraj” aims to study architectural forms of Wat Phra Borom That Nakhon Si Thammaraj in details. Integration of methodology and historical evidences were used so as to figure out the history of construction. Measurement was done thoroughly, along with the preparation of data base of photographs of existing conditions and the ancient ones, and 3D models so as to systematically describe architectural forms of Wat Phra Borom That Nakhon Si Thammaraj. This study also aims to be used for the nomination of Wat Phra Borom That Nakhon Si Thammaraj as the World Heritage site as well as tourism interpretation.

All components in the site plan of the temple, comprising the Chedi, Phra Rabiang Tub Kaset, Phra Viharn Khian, Phra Maha Phi Ne Ka Sa Rom (Viharn Phra Song Maa), Phra Viharn Dham Sala, the gallery, and the main Viharn, were studied in order to prepare historical trail, glossary of architecture and arts, and 3D models.

The collected data concerns architectural forms, architectural history, and arts. Data from the survey and fields studies can be helpful in terms of cultural heritage management, conservation, and interpretation. In addition, the document is prepared so as to nominate Wat Phra Mahathat Woramahawihan, Nakhon Si Thammarat as the World Heritage.
