The Days of Antarctica in Thailand

This year marks the 200th anniversary of the discovery of Antarctica by Russian sailors. On this occasion, the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Thailand, the Russian Geographical Society and The Siam Society Under Royal Patronage proudly present «Days of Antarctica in Thailand», a joint event featuring a three-part Russian documentary about Antarctica in past and present, a lecture by the Russian Geographical Society expert Mr Kirill Kuznetsov (via Zoom), and an exhibition of archived photos and materials on the discovery of Antarctica, as well as a small reception. The event is free of charge and will be held in English.

About the speaker

Mr Kirill Kuznetsov graduated from the Moscow State University, Faculty of Geography, Department of Geomorphology. From 2005 to 2009, he lived in Singapore. He started working for the Russian Geographical Society in 2010 and is now in charge of public lectures and analytics. When time allows, he likes to travel and climb mountains.
