
The Signing Ceremony of the Memorandum of Cooperation between The Siam Society and King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives
Following the visit to the King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives (DARAH) in Riyadh during The Siam Society’s study trip to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in February 2024, the bilateral relations between the two organisations have been strengthened through this MoC signing ceremony.
The ceremony was witnessed by HE Mr Abdulrahman Abdulaziz Alsuhaibani, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Thailand, HE Mr Humid Abdulrahman H. Al Humid, Director of Public Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, Mrs Somlak Charoenpot, The Siam Society’s Vice President, The Siam Society’s Council Members, and officials from DARAH.
Acting upon the commitment to the pursuit of knowledge, both organisations aim to cooperate in their respective fields of specialisation. On this occasion, HE Mr Turki bin Mohammed Alshuwaier, HE Mr Abdulrahman Abdulaziz Alsuhaibani, and other delegates from Saudi Arabia had an opportunity to visit The Siam Society’s Library and Rare Book Collection to see resources and rare documents on the art and history of the Arabian Peninsula and Siam that have been preserved in the library.
