The Queen Sirikit Park is a public garden located in Bangkok; it is part of the larger Chatuchak Park complex. It was established in 1992 to celebrate H M Queen Sirikit 60^th anniversary birthday. The total area of this park is only about 120,000 sq. m., but the park has a high biodiversity in an ecosystem which has a great variety of plants, birds and butterflies. The park also contains many fountains and pools, with several attractions and activities within the park. It is one of the most beautiful public gardens in Bangkok containing more than 2,000 species of local and foreign plants. There are a great variety of bananas, palm trees, hibiscus, lotus, orchids, rare plants as well as plants endemic to Thailand. It is one of the places in Bangkok where members can enjoy manicured natural gardens with many birds. It provides a really relaxing atmosphere for a person who appreciates the beauty of the world in plants, trees and flowers.

December – January is the best time to visit and stroll in this garden, especially with the well-known botanist, former director of Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden in Chiang Mai and present Board Member of HM Queen Sirikit Park Foundation Dr Weerachai Nanakorn acting as your honorary guide.

Before visiting Queen Sirikit Park, with special permission the Siam Society is arranging a special high tea at Nai Lert Park. Members will enjoy their tea while admiring a peaceful pond hidden among the tropical plants and puzzle at an age-old the stately rain trees planted by Nai Lert many decades ago. Nai Lert bought the land along Klong Saen Saep and planned to build a unique teakwood abode where his family could relax and have friends over to visit on the weekends in the confines of a lush garden. The Nai Lert family home were opened to the public in 1915. It was the first western-style public park in Bangkok. Scout camps and other activities were held in the grounds, fondly referred to by locals as “Nai Lert Park”. For three generations, the Nai Lert family lived in the house until it was decided in 2012 to convert the private residence to a heritage property where the greater community shall appreciate the experience and its historical charms.
