Launch of “Heritage Matters” column by The Siam Society
The Siam Society Under Royal Patronage is delighted to announce the launch of “Heritage Matters”, a monthly column by The Siam Society in the Bangkok Post.
“Heritage Matters” will only focus on identifying the challenges and opportunities of cultural heritage conservation, but will also be aimed at raising public awareness on various dimensions of such issue, in relevance to the people of Thailand and those in the Southeast Asian region.
This month’s opening article by our President, Khun Bilaibhan Sampatisiri, reiterates the importance of collaboration from all stakeholders in attaining a true sense of sustainability in the protection and conservation of our country’s tangible and intangible cultural heritage. It also delineates the works of Siamese Heritage Trust in advocating for the conservation of cultural and natural heritage in the past decade- through its four working pillars in the areas of knowledge, education, networking and advocacy.

The Siam Society looks forward to bringing you a selection of interesting articles by academics, heritage practitioners, government officials and ordinary citizens- as part of this new and exciting column in the coming months.
