On the occasion of its 120th anniversary, The Siam Society Under Royal Patronage reflects on its milestones as it looks further ahead into the future. Since its foundation in 1904, The Society has become a major cultural institution unique for its intent of pioneering exploration and public discourse. Guided by the motto, “Knowledge Gives Rise to Friendship”, its mission to promote knowledge of the culture, history, arts, and natural sciences of Thailand and neighbouring countries, has inspired over one thousand members and countless individuals. 

Throughout the year 2024, The Society is set to celebrate this auspicious occasion with a variety of special activities scheduled to take place throughout the year. Each of these activities is carefully tailored to emphasise The Society’s most important value: the pursuit of knowledge, as underscored by its 120th anniversary special motto: “Inspiring the Generations”. As a hub of knowledge-sharing among both Thai and foreign lifelong learners for over a century, The Society is committed to always opening its door to knowledge seekers of all ages through its numerous activity programmes.
