On Tuesday, 23 August 2022, Her Excellency Orna Sagiv, Ambassador of Israel to Thailand, paid a visit to The Siam Society Under Royal Patronage and was welcomed by President Bilaibhan Sampatisiri.

During the visit, both sides seek to establish a cultural collaboration through a number of activities, with the aim of showcasing Thai and Israelian culture through various dimensions. This includes the possibility of an organisation of study trips by The Siam Society to learn more about Israel’s success as a world leader in creating a remarkable agricultural transformation, leading the country towards a sustainable national food security.

Furthermore, both parties also explored various possibilities regarding the organisation of joint lectures, official dialogues and interactive exhibitions focusing on the people, culture and customs of Israel, particularly after gaining its independence in 1948.

Given the fact that the year 2024 will mark the 120^th anniversary of The Siam Society, along with the 70^th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Israel and Thailand, The Siam Society eagerly looks forward to working with the Embassy of Israel in Thailand to promote the exchange of knowledge and culture between our two countries in the months and years ahead.
