On 19 March 2025, Mrs Somlak Charoenpot, Vice President, welcomed representatives from The British Embassy in Bangkok and a delegation of UK academics to The Siam Society. The purpose of this visit is to enhance people-to-people connections between the UK and Thailand, specifically by facilitating discussions between UK scholars with a focus on Thailand. On this occasion, the delegation also visited The Siam Society’s Library and saw the rare documents that relate to the Thailand–United Kingdom relations.

As 2025 marks the 170th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and the United Kingdom, The Siam Society truly looks forward to collaborating with The British Embassy in the future to strengthen the people-to-people links between the UK and Thailand.
