On 17 April 2026, Her Excellency Mrs Magdalini Nicolaou, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Greece to Thailand, paid a courtesy call on President Bilaibhan Sampatisiri. The meeting was joined by Mrs Somlak Charoenpot, Vice President, and Mrs Chulamanee Chartsuwan, Council Member.

The Ambassador was introduced to the work of The Siam Society, gaining insight into its role in promoting knowledge, preserving cultural heritage, and fostering scholarly exchange.

Warm and engaging discussions also opened the door to potential collaboration, including the co-organisation of a study trip to Greece. Particular interest was expressed in exploring the country’s northeastern region, renowned for its rich silk traditions, offering an opportunity to deepen cultural understanding and exchange in this distinctive field.
