Land and Building Tax Act B.E. 2562 (2019): Is the empty or unused useless?

On Saturday, 5 November, Siamese Heritage Trust, under The Siam Society Under Royal Patronage, organised a panel discussion on the topic of “Land and Building Tax Act B.E. 2562 (2019): Is the empty or unused useless?”
On this occasion, we were honoured to receive the presence of various academics and experts in the field of law, economics, environment and archaeology, all of whom contributed their ideas and perspectives to the instrumental management of biologically diverse and historically significant areas that are at risk of being affected by the Act.
In addition to the legal aspect, the panel discussion also touched on topics relating to the general management of heritage sites, including the management approach of areas under private ownership which may be classified as a heritage site.
Furthermore, the panel discussion also addressed the issue of unforeseen impacts on heritage sites, which may arise as a result of the enforcement of certain clauses, including the inseparable relationship between natural and cultural heritage.
This panel discussion is a part of “Agenda 2022.23 Cultural Landscape and Sustainable Development”, a series of activities running from November 2022 to April 2023 by Siamese Heritage Trust with an aim of illustrating the importance of cultural landscape and sustainable development.
