Mrs Somlak Charoenpot, Vice President of The Siam Society and board member of ICOM-ICOFOM, was invited to represent Thailand on the Board of the International Committee for Museology, Asia Pacific region (ICOFOM ASPAC), which is under the auspices of the International Council of Museums. Mrs Somlak presented the country report for Thailand, focusing on how museums in Southeast Asia and Thailand have rebounded by using creative and innovative approaches after being struck by the pandemic

Ms Kanitha Kasina-Ubol, Managing Director of The Siam Society, was also invited to give a presentation on the topic of Healing after COVID-19 with the Kamthieng House Museum as The Siam Society was able to continue to engage with our community through the use of digital educational tools.

The ICOFOM ASPAC Annual Symposium 2023 “Museums towards Community Recovery” was held between 15-19 November in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The international presenters and were welcomed by YB Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang, the Minister of National Unity of Malaysia.
