The year 2025 holds a special place in The Siam Society Under Royal Patronage’s annual cultural programme, as it marks a century since the passing of its first patron, His Majesty King Vajiravudh (Rama VI), and the birth of his daughter, Her Royal Highness Princess Bejaratana Rajasuda, both of whom are remembered as foremost patrons of arts and culture.

To mark this auspicious occasion, The Siam Society will present a special concert, “Mozart · Requiem: Concert in Memoriam 1925–2025,” which will take place on 28 February and 1 March 2026 at 18:00 at the Devaraja Sabharamaya Hall, Phya Thai Palace.

Devaraja Sabharamaya Hall, an architectural gem within the historic Phya Thai Palace, was originally commissioned by King Vajiravudh as a ceremonial hall for royal functions. Steeped in history and adorned with intricate details, the hall embodies the King’s vision of blending Western aesthetics with Thai artistic expression. Rarely opened to the public, it serves as a fitting and evocative setting for this concert in remembrance of His Majesty’s enduring legacy in fostering cultural and intellectual life in Siam.

Under the baton of Voraprach Wongsathapornpat, the performance will feature soprano Pijarin Wiriyasakdakul, alto Duangamorn Fu, tenor Narumi Hashioka, and bass-baritone Benjamin Guilbaud. This concert will be a rare occasion to witness outstanding musical talents, including promising young Thai artists who have honed their craft abroad.

To bring this special performance to life, The Siam Society invites you to take part in our fundraising campaign. Your contribution will not only ensure the success of this event but also help create more opportunities for young Thai artists to thrive in the classical music industry, from training and performance platforms to professional exposure and artistic development.
