Visit to King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives (DARAH) in Riyadh
During The Siam Society’s study trip to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in February, representatives from The Siam Society had an opportunity to visit the King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives (DARAH) in Riyadh to discuss the possibility of future collaboration between the two organisations.
Mrs Bilaibhan Sampatisiri, President of The Siam Society, together with Mrs Somlak Charoenpot, Vice President, Dr Pusadee Tamthai, Council Member, and Ms Kanitha Kasina-Ubol, Managing Director were warmly welcomed by Dr Fahd bin Abdullah Al-Samari, the secretary-general of DARAH, Mr Turki bin Mohammed Alshuwaier, Chief Executive Officer of DARAH, and Mr Ali AlRuzuq, Director of Public Relations Department.
The meeting marked the commencement of our bilateral relations and we believed that it will create numerous opportunities for the exchange of knowledge in the fields of history, heritage conservation, and art. This meeting will also give rise to a better use of our scholarly resources and information, with great potential to yield valuable understanding and insight for the mutual benefit of both organisations.
